Big weekend

It was a big weekend. Saturday, we did the Churchyard 400 at Nolan's old school, which in short is a bunch of preschoolers hyped up on sugar (that the parents are selling at a profit to each other's children) all on bikes racing around a track. Hilarious and treacherous at once. When the Dads decided to have their own race on the kids bikes complete with wipe outs, Nolan's bike had its seat broken off. Nolan ended up crying because I took the $28 that was put in his hand by said Dad who broke the bike and was trying to give it back. Drama!

From there it was straight to music class. (Nolan is a star!) Lunch downtown outside on the circle. We got the best parking spot ever and didn't want to leave just cuz our car was in such a good spot. But we did leave to go to the Fountain Sq Art Fair. We didn't get any art but it was fun to walk around, eat a donut and chat with friends at the bike shop. We all passed out when we got home.

Laura, our new babysitter from the pool this summer came over and Burd and I got to go see Planet B-Boys. It's a documentary about modern day break dancing and hip hop culture around the world. It was good and Laura was great with Nolan. He was in bed asleep when we got home at 9:30. (After a nap that is fabulous for him.)

Sunday we hit the pumpkin farm. It was good fun with the picnic lunch, pumpkin train, the playground, and hayride to pick our own pumpkins. We completed the experience with fried dough and lemon shake ups just to spend a little more money than necessary. We opted out of the gourd sling shot and pumpkin canon. And holy crap you should see the entrance to the "haunted house" which is some kind of blow up thing that you send your child into and hope that he comes out again. We skipped that too.
